This most modern ropeway connects Darjeeling to the Singla Bazaar at the bottom of the valley. This ropeway most popular among the tourists is busy most of the times during peak season. This ropeway which started with a single car now keeps sixteen cars which ply between North point and banks of Ramman River.

A mountain spring is the source of water for this lake and the lake in turn feeds the town.
